Scot Becker

Independent Technologist

AI-Native Software · Systems Thinking · EducationI work with people and small organizations to explore how modern AI systems can be used practically, responsibly, and in ways that actually fit their work. Most of what I do starts as learning: explaining concepts, building small examples together, running hands-on experiments, or working 1:1 to understand what’s possible — and what’s not — before anyone commits to tools or products.
My background is in teaching and technical learning. I’m especially interested in helping people build understanding alongside capability, so they’re not dependent on systems they don’t really trust or control.
Some of this work turns into client engagements. Some of it stays experimental. Both are part of developing good judgment about AI in real settings.I’m currently focused on understanding local businesses and small teams, while also running independent experiments to see what kinds of tools and approaches actually stick. If you’re curious, the best starting point is usually a conversation.
